Welcome to the best subject in education
Teaching and Education PhliosophyI try to make learning history fun and exciting because going to school should be an enjoyable experience. In my class, the students get to help steer the ship through project-based learning. I prefer to give my students a research project based on a broad topic and then let them hone in on what interest them. When they share their project with the rest of the class, everyone's learning is expanded is enlightened. I also enjoy using quality documentaries and films to help my students visualize the historical eras we will be studying.
I believe you should always study history like it's the most important subject ever. If you do this, the rest of your classes will make more sense. Or, maybe it's the other way around? To be honest, I don't know if that's true but my passion for history makes my class for an hour good times learning about all the cool stories from our past. There is never a dull moment because history is like the Princess Bride: it has fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, and miracles. And who doesn't love a good miracle story? |
